Okay, this trip can mostly be described in pictures!
We did our annual summer trip to Utah. We drove, and the kids actually did really good! Thank goodness I had our cousin Sheridan with us, so while I was driving she'd keep Sammy happy, and therefore we didn't have to stop too much. Dax was newly potty trained (wearing a pull up just in case) and didn't have one accident.
I love this picture of him making a pit stop with some very beautiful scenery :)

The hotel stay was an adventure!
Sammy took a bit to wind down and decide where she wanted to sleep (she is literally impossible sometimes -exerting her will as strong as ever). She wanted the get in my bed with me, but had to be laying against the headboard, on the pillow, above my head, but before that, she wouldn't let me help her climb into the bed (for real), and she finally did it (it was really funny). Then Dax was mad that he couldn't sleep with me, so we had to put him in my bed too. So, since Sammy wouldn't stop wiggling I put her in the crib and she got to cry in the crib that was 10 inches away from me, for about 15 minutes or so (more like tantrum crying). Once she went to sleep, around 10 pm, that was it. We all slept all night!

Dax and Simon, one year apart, got to be little buddies on this trip, but its perfect because Sammy and Simon are 4 months apart and little buddies too! Simon is huge, so he keeps up with Dax pretty good.

I love Logan Canyon. This is the waterfall, at the Spring Hollow campground, right by where Shawn and I got engaged (which was the grassy spot right above the water fall). I've always loved this spot, since I was a kid.

Sammy and her perfectly paired partner, Halle, who is 3 months older. These two are so cute together!

And Dax and Sammy got to see their cousin Mykah (and baby Scarlett) also.

No shortage of fun things to do in such a beautiful place, with such nice weather, but my Mom knew how to keep Dax busy. Playing with dish soap, water, bowls and measuring cups -who knew?!

Now this is too classic not to post. My Dad, rescuing Simon because he wouldn't- more like Couldn't get down. It was too funny.

Dax sure had fun. He didn't ride the horse, he just got to sit on it.

Now I'm so proud to say that this was when Dax learned to jump off the diving board, and also when he learned to be brave enough to swim by himself -WITH a life jacket, lol.
We did swim lessons in June, and I have been working with him at home, but I never knew just how much fun he would have with a life jacket, and boy did he!!
Sammy chillin' in the tube :)

Shawn and I were lucky enough to get to go to a fun concert at the Rio Tinto Stadium -Foreigner and then... Journey!! Of course, there are only like on or two original members left in journey, but the lead guy, WOW! He is this guy who they found on youtube from the Philippines, who was virtually unknown even there, but he sounds EXACTLY (and I have a good ear) like the original lead singer.
It was such a fun concert, and I love all the classic songs. Plus, it was after I had picked up Shawn from the airport after a week apart, and we got a kid free night and an amazing concert, and pretty darn nice weather too!
Shawn, Amy, ROBIN, Camie & Jeff!

And finally, all things come to an end -us on the way home (this is Sammy after puking in the car the night before multiple times from that 24 hour flu bug that went around this summer).
*What I didn't post was Sammy's 2nd birthday party and our Bear Lake adventures -that's next!!
We love LOVE our trips to Utah, but the July one is my favorite! I got to do a 1/2 marathon in Smithfield as well in the middle of July. It was so cool!
More fun summer stuff to come!
